Our Little Guy-- The McKay Dee Hospital

So this picture was taken about a month ago. Its no secret... we have a little cutie! For those of you that don't know yet we have been in the hospital since Sunday the 15th at 3 am. Aaron was feeding the baby about 2:30 and told me that Austin lips were turning blue. We checked the RSV check list and he had all of the signs except for the fever. We rushed him to the ER and they did some tests and then he was admitted for Bronchiolitis. Bronchiolitis is the baby version of bronchitis. So we were told we would be here a few days... no biggie.. give him antibiotics and suck the gunk out of his lungs and we thought we would be home by Tuesday. Tuesday he started having problems keeping the oxygen level in his blood at a safe level.. So they put him on oxygen... So now we have the antibiotic, the suctioning every 3-4 hours and the constant monitor of his heart and air a... so then we think things are going well and they tell us that he has pneumonia.. The Doctor ordered blood work and a urine test ( poor little guy had to have a catheter) and that went for testing. He was showing that he was breathing great and they took him off of his oxygen. We were in the cafeteria this morning and we ran into one of the doctors and he said we may be able to go home today! We were so excited. Then his pediatrician came in this afternoon and said that he has citrobacter which is not good and it can lead to meningitis. So this afternoon he had a spinal tap and we should have the results back by 5 or 6... now we are just playing the waiting game.
